MOBILE ELEVATED WORK PLATFORMS (MEWP)

MEWP's are widely used in places of work in the place of ladders and tower scaffolds. Operators are asked to use them without any formal training and are not aware of the safety precautions required or the capabilities or limits of the unit.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify their responsibilities under current legislation
Travelling in operational mode
Conduct a safety check on the MEWP
Duties of the MEWP operator
Position a MEWP correctly and safely
Safety precautions of using a MEWP
Identify the SWL of the MEWP persons and materials
