AED Training ( Automated External Defibrillator)

 

Extended Life Support

(Oxygen and Defibrillation)

The Programme has a modular structure to train in Oxygen Therapy and Automatic External Defibrillation (AED).

 

Automatic External Defibrillation, AED ( ˝ day)

This course covers all aspects of the use of Automatic External Defibrillators and covers a number of the market-leading devices. Course are tailored to the venue. Also covers safety issues, legal considerations and maintenance of AED’s. Course complies with European Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Pre-requisites: Must hold a current Lifeguard Qualification or Occupational First Aid Certificate, and be 18 years of age or over

Maximum Course numbers 8 per course.

 

 

Extended Life Support Course (1 day)

This course introduces the use of Barrier Rescue Breathing, Airway management and suctioning using the V-Vac suction unit, resuscitation with supplementary oxygen, and all aspects of the use of Automatic External Defibrillators. Assessment is by means of practical and written examinations.

Pre-requisites: Must hold a current Lifeguard Qualification or Occupational First Aid Certificate, and be 18 years of age or over.

Maximum Course numbers 8 per course.

 

 

Extended Life Support – 2 days

Specially designed for novice providers, the course includes Basic Life Support on adults, children and infants for the first day, followed by the full Extended Life Support Course (Oxygen, suction and defibrillation) on the second day. Candidates will receive Basic Life Support and Extended Life Support Certification from RLSS.

Pre-requisites:   Must be over 18 years of age (No previous first aid knowledge needed)

Maximum Course numbers 8 per course.

 

 

First Responder Complete Course (4 days – 28 hours)

Combining a full Occupational First Aid course with Extended Life Support, this course provides a complete emergency response qualification for first responders. Instructors are registered with the National Ambulance Training School (Dublin).

Pre-requisites:   Must be over 18 years of age.

Maximum Course numbers 12 per course.
